The ISL99360FRZ-T from Renesas is a high-performance 60A Smart Power Stage (SPS) designed for high-frequency, high-efficiency multiphase DC/DC power conversion. It integrates power MOSFETs, gate-drive functions, high-accuracy current monitoring and temperature monitoring into a compact 5mm × 5mm PQFN package.

The device operates from a 3V to 16V power input and supports up to 60A continuous DC output current. The ISL99360 version features a 3.3V-compatible tri-state PWM input and supports switching frequencies up to 1.25MHz.

Integrated current sensing provides approximately ±3% current-monitor accuracy, while the temperature monitor provides an 8mV/°C output. These integrated monitoring functions help eliminate external inductor DCR current-sensing networks and associated thermal-compensation circuitry.

The ISL99360FRZ-T also integrates comprehensive protection functions including input and bias undervoltage lockout, high-side FET short protection, overcurrent protection and over-temperature protection. An open-drain fault output simplifies communication between the power stage and multiphase PWM controller.
